Frequently Asked Questions
-
The Day Market is held on the last Saturday of every month from 9 AM to 1 PM.
-
The Day Market is held at The Blind Goat restaurant in Spring Branch. The address is 8145 Long Point Road, Houston 77055.
-
The Day Market is held primarily indoors, which we believe is a huge perk. If you are familiar with Houston, you know it can storm one day and be unbearably hot the next. If you are selling merchandise or food/drinks that do not require an open heat source, you will likely be placed indoors. Only those vendors who are cooking over an open heat source(such as charcoal, life fire, Sterno cans, etc.) will be stationed outdoors due to city regulations. Please note that if you are stationed outdoors, you will need to bring your own tables and station setup; our 4ft x 2.5ft dining tables cannot be moved outside of the dining room.
-
If you will be reheating or cooking food at the Day market (think toaster oven, microwave, charcoal, life fire, Sterno cans,, etc.), you will need to obtain a Temporary Food Dealer’s Permit from the City of Houston’s Health Department. Apply for the permit here: https://www.houstonpermittingcenter.org/hhd1010#:~:text=Mail the completed application%2C supporting,HOUSTON PERMITTING CENTER.
-
We aim to have about 22 vendors at each Day market.
-
We strive to invite a diverse group of vendors each time so that there is something for everyone. We don’t want to, say, curate 10 pastry tables or 8 coffee vendors, causing unnecessary competition that hurts our small businesses. By limiting the number of vendors in any single category, we ensure our sellers have a successful day while offering our customers a unique and varied shopping experience.
-
Not yet. As we are building up this community event, we do not charge a fee to sell your goods at the Day Market. However, we may charge a small fee in the future to help with the costs of running such an event. This fee would help cover marketing, utilities, and venue maintenance, etc.
-
You can arrive as early as 8 AM to load in and set up your table. You must be ready to open for business by 9 AM. All stations must be broken down and cleaned up by 2 PM.
-
You are responsible for bringing your own:
Decor and signage to spruce up your table
Point-of-sale (POS) system to accept your own payments
Please do not bring your own tables without talking to us as we carefully map out the vendor layout for each Day Market to ensure each business has it sown viable space.
-
We will provide you with:
One 4ft x 2.5ft table
Two seats
WiFi for your POS system
Free parking on location
Promotional marketing via our email list, social media, digital ads, and flyers distributed to our community
Please note we DO NOT provide electrical power.
-
To maximize the number of vendors we can host, we do not offer the standard 10ft x 10ft spaces. Your setup must stay within the perimeter of your table. We suggest focusing on a curated display that fits neatly into a 4ft x 2.5 ft tabletop footprint.
-
Our indoor and outdoor spaces are limited, but we might be able to accommodate reasonable requests. We will try to consider everyone’s inquiries on a first come, first served, and case-by-case basis. Email us at info@theblindgoat.com to ask.
6ft TABLE - Some of you who are used to farmers, food, and crafts markets may have a 6ft table you’d like to use. Email us to see if we have room in our vendor layout for your table.
TOASTER OVEN, MICROWAVE, FOOD WARMER - We have very few electrical outlets in our space, but you are welcome to email and ask about electrical power.
10ft x 10ft TENT - If you are cooking hot food and stationed outdoors, you can certainly bring your tent if it fits within your allotted space. Email us to ask.
FOOD TRUCK - If your vehicle can fit within a standard parking space, we should be able to accommodate if there aren’t other food trucks or tents already claiming the outdoor spaces. Send an email to inquire. Note you will need to provide your own power generator.
GEORGE THE ALPACA - Since the Day Market is mostly held inside our restaurant space, George the Alpaca and all furry pet friends will have to unfortunately stay home. Give George a hug and a handful of grass for us.
Basically, if you have a question, email us!
-
Most of the Day market is held within our restaurant dining room, so unfortunately, your fur baby should stay home.

We promote the Day market and its vendors with our email list, social media, digital ads, and printed flyers that we distribute to our guests and community. As a vendor, you, too, are highly encouraged to help us get the word out to your fan base that you will be at our Day Market. We can send you digital graphics that you can share on your social media. A big part of the Day Market’s success is dependent on you bringing your own supporters to the event, so please help us promote your presence!
